Basic Steps to Build a Custom Home

r     Choose a lot, unless you already own buildable property.  We can hold a lot in Abiqua Heights for 45 days with a deposit while you make the needed decisions to proceed with a custom home project.

r     Choose an available custom plan, choose a stock plan (using our resources, the internet, or plan books available for purchase), or have a designer or architect design a home for you.

r     Provide basic information on what you would like in a new home.

r     Fill out:  “Information Needed for a Bid”

r     Decide on finish materials.

r     Read: “Client Choices Overview.”

r     Provide required “allowance” item choices and pricing.

r     Fill out needed portions of “Product Selection” forms as needed.

r     Share any photos, literature, information on what you hope to include in your new home.

r     Receive a bid from Black’s Construction, Inc., including specifications for the quality of materials to be used, a list of allowance items, and an allowance budget.

r     Sign a contract for a construction project.

r     Finish making any choices needed for allowance items.

r     Fill out:  “Product Selection” forms as needed.

r     Visit the site during construction as frequently as you like.

r     Move in to your new home!
